Taking into consideration my dietary necessity to consume sizeable amounts of bacon on a “regular basis”, Peace Corps recruiting officers in Washington D.C. finally decided that the availability of bacon substitutes (see below) was adequate for my placement in Romania despite the fact that the country contains no real bacon.
