My pre-service training is in Târgovişte—a medium-sized Romanian city 49km northwest of Bucureşti. It is the capital of the county of Dâmboviţa and was the capital of Wallachia (1418-1659) before it was moved to Bucureşti.
I am staying in Târgovişte with my host (gazda) Lumi. She has three daughters—one in San Antonio, another in Târgovişte, and the youngest goes to the University in Bucureşti. They are all very nice. I have training 5 days a week and sometimes we have sessions over the weekend. We have language classes in the mornings and other sessions in the afternoons. Romanian is complicated I don’t know what I will do if I have to learn Hungarian too. I will find out my final site sometime during week 6.
I will post some pictures of Târgovişte soon.
